Writer, lecturer, editor, feminist activist, and Ms. magazine co-founder Gloria Steinem will mark the publication’s 40th anniversary with a talk in the Vassar Chapel on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:00pm, followed by a question-and-answer session. This event is free and open to the public and sponsored by the Women’s Studies program. No reservations. First come, first seated.

Three-day conference focuses on unique lesbian, queer, and gender-nonconforming histories Vassar, November 3-5, 2011.

“Smashing History: 150 Years of LGBTIQA Vassar,” a three-day conference that celebrates the accomplishments of prominent Vassar alumnae/i who have distinguished themselves in service to LGBTIQA communities and seeks to inspire participants to take action for the future, will be held from Thursday, November 3, through Saturday, November 5. The conference will feature panels, lectures, workshops, exhibits, and performances.

Vassar College, on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, welcomes all members of the Hudson Valley community to spend “A Day at Vassar” on Saturday, October 15. This day-long series of free events will feature a selection of lectures taught by members of the world-renowned Vassar faculty, entertainment, special tours, exhibitions, and more.
